I’ve come to live here in Ontario, moving from Vancouver Island, British Columbia. I started here at Vineland Missionary Church on October 21st, 2013. I love meeting with people to talk about how their lives have been shaped by God's purposes, and how they have endured through life's struggles. My passion is teaching the Bible, loving my wife, the outdoors, imported cheese, sushi and bacon. My wife Laura and I have the privilege of raising five great kids: Isaiah (8 years old), Zoey (6), Ezekiel (4), Zachariah (2) and Ezra (2).
It is my prayer that God will use me to encourage the people who come to Vineland Missionary Church to continue to grow in their faith, submitting their lives to God. I want to do my part in equipping the people in our community to believe in and live God's word.
So, enjoy some biblical theology, love your family, and try some applewood smoked cheddar... you won't regret it! :)
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
These blog posts are some of my reflections from a pastor's perspective. They are intended to lead us into greater passion for the Bible.
I started attending the youth group at Vineland Missionary Church when I was sixteen. I loved it from the start. My wife, Lori grew up at VMC. A few years after we were married our Pastor asked if there were any who felt God was calling them to serve in ministry. In 1987 we responded to that call and pastored churches in Oakville, Pickering, West Lincoln and St. Catharines. Now, 30 years later, Lori and I are blessed to return to VMC where I serve as the Associate Pastor. I also am honoured to serve as the Chaplain for the St. Catharines Fire Services.
I greatly value inviting people to know Jesus Christ and investing in care giving relationships that inspire blessing others. I find at VMC a church family that demonstrates a reverence for Biblical teaching, a generous spirit of love for others and a place where the community is welcome.
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified
to teach others.

I grew up in Niagara on the lake with my parents and younger sister. I have a diploma from Niagara College in Tourism: Marketing and Operations. In October of 2013, I married my husband Ryan and we bought our first home in St. Catharines. We had our son Adam in March 2017. He is the greatest blessing. He is so happy and friendly all the time! We are so lucky!
I accepted the position as Office Administrator at VMC in July 2014 and loved it ever since. I get to meet some great people and build new relationships. I learn so much everyday and really get to explore my creative side, especially when VBC rolls around.
I moved to Vineland when I was in Grade 7 and left after OAC to attend Bible College in BC. I graduated Summit Pacific College with a BA in Theology and a Major in Church Ministries. Since then I have been fortunate enough to have worked in positions related to Children. I love hearing their questions of who God is and seeing them learn and express without any inhibitions.
My husband and I along, with our two children, have recently made a move to Ontario from Alberta. It was great timing to be able to come work at VMC and use gifts I know God has given me, so we are excited to raise our children among family and begin to build our new community here!!
I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
The Lord has lead me me down a long winding path to serve here at VMC and I couldn't be more excited for this position! I come from Tillsonburg, a small town in southern Ontario, and followed my wife out to the Niagara region to start our lives together. We have just had our first daughter as of May 24th 2019 and look forward to her growing up in this community.
I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Theology with a minor in Youth Ministry from Tyndale University/College. I am passionate about ministering to the next generations and seeing the amount of youth present at this church warms my heart!
My hobbies include playing various sports, hiking, video games, comic books and pretty much all things "nerdy".
